• 🥚 egg means you made a wrong or duplicate guess. Avoid getting many eggs. Up to 10 eggs (clue errors) are allowed in Practice level, 7 eggs in Challenge level and no eggs in Superpro level.
• green flag means a correct guess.
• red flag means a wrong guess.
• red open envelope means you lost - actual list is revealed.
• Correct list is revealed if you give up or lose.
• A progress bar shows how close you are to the actual match.

• #Letters - Total number of letters in the name
• Last letter - Last letter of the name
• #Words - Total number of words in the name

• A Blue guessed name is alphabetically lower than the actual name. Go higher (towards Z) for next guess.
• Red guessed name is alphabetically higher. Go lower (towards A) for next guess.
• A Green guessed name means actual Answer has this same first few green letters. Guess another name that starts with highlighted green letters.
• Black letters reveal no clues. You can ignore them.
• Correct Answer is revealed after 7th try (or if you lose or match or give up early).

• Type first 3 letters (4 letters in Pro/Superpro mode) of the guessed name. Don't type more than 7 letters if you want to use matching names list feature.
• Wait for the dropdown list of matching names to appear - don't submit yet. It takes less than a second, worst case just couple seconds. If matching names list doesn't appear, try first 3 letters (4 if pro/superpro) of another name/spelling.
• Choose a name from the matching names list. Then hit Submit button.
• If matching names list doesn't appear for the letters you typed, it means no matching name was found. In that case, please try a different spelling or another name. Our dataset is ever evolving - we could have some names missing at times.

Here is a sample matching names list.

• Share the face-off link with others so that they can join the game. Link expires in 15 minutes.
• Everyone who plays using the shared face-off link gets the same hidden name to guess. See who can guess it better.
• Your time starts when you make the first guess. You don't have to start at the same time as others.
• Each player can play the face-off game in the difficulty mode they choose. For example one player can play it in Practice mode while the other can play Pro mode.
• Compare your score with others to see who won the face-off.

🥚 Egg is a sign that you missed to heed a previously revealed clue. It could be either a name clue (highlighted letters) or attribute match clue.

There is a max limit on how many eggs you can have before you lose in each level. Try to make the most of the clues - avoid getting many eggs. More eggs you get, lesser you score even if you win.

For example, if first letter of the name you guessed is highlighted blue M and your next guess starts with G, then you'll get an egg for that. Blue letters are colder and you are supposed to go warmer/higher/later (towards Z).

• Level 1 - Practice level - max 10 eggs
• Level 2 - Challenge level - max 7 eggs
• Level 3 - Precision level - max 3 eggs
• Level 4 - Pro level - max 1 egg
• Level 5 - SuperPro level - no eggs
