• Each Puzzle starts with few guesses and match-clues.
• Check Length, Odd/Even, Last Digit, Tens and Last 2 Digits Diff attributes to see what matched( =) and what didn't ( ≠). Use these for deductions.
• Also check first letter of your guess.
  If its Red, guess a alphabetically lower name.
  If its Blue, guess a alphabetically higher name.
  If its Green, its correct 1st letter. Guess another name with same 1st letter. Same goes for 2nd letter.
  Red is hot, go colder/lower/earlier (towards A) in alphabet

  Blue is cold, go warmer/higher/later (towards Z) in alphabet
• Refine your guess using revealed match clues.
• Repeat (until correct Number is identified).

• 🥚 egg means you didn't heed a previous clue. Avoid getting many eggs. Up to 10 allowed in Practice mode, 7 in Play mode and none in Pro mode.
• green flag means a clean guess (with no eggs).
• red open envelope means you lost - actual name is revealed.
• Correct Number is revealed after 7th try (or if you match or lose early).
• A progress bar shows how close you are to the actual match.

Sample gameplay

Here is a sample gameplay. Based on first two guesses, the actual name should start alphabetically between M and T.

• Length - Number of digits (1-4)
• Odd/Even - Even number, odd number
• Last Digit - Last digit of the number
• Tens - Number of Tens (2nd last digit)
• Last 2 Digits Diff - Absolute difference of last 2 digits of the number

• A Blue guessed name is alphabetically lower than the actual name. Go higher (towards Z) for next guess.
• Red guessed name is alphabetically higher. Go lower (towards A) for next guess.
• A Green guessed name means actual Number has this same 1st letter. Guess another name with same letter.
• Color clues for 2nd letter are revealed after first letter is matched.
• Black letters reveal no clues. You can ignore them.
• Correct Number is revealed after 7th try (or if you lose or match or give up early).

• Type first 3 letters (4 letters in Pro mode) of the guessed name. Don't type more than 6 letters if you wish to use autocomplete.
• Wait for the dropdown list of matching names to appear. In couple seconds, you will see a dropdown list of matching names.
• Choose a matching name from the displayed list.
• If there are no matching names, nothing would show up. In that case, please try a different spelling or another name.

Here is a autocomplete sample.

• Share the face-off link with others so that they can join the game. Link expires in 15 minutes.
• Everyone who plays using the shared face-off link gets the same hidden name to guess. See who can guess it better.
• Your time starts when you make the first guess. You don't have to start at the same time as others.
• Each player can play the face-off game in the difficulty mode they choose. For example one player can play it in Practice mode while the other can play Pro mode.
• Compare your score with others to see who won the face-off.

🥚 Egg is a sign that you missed to heed a previously revealed clue. It could be either a name clue (highlighted letters) or attribute match clue.

There is a max limit on how many eggs you can have before you lose in each level. Try to make the most of the clues - avoid getting many eggs. More eggs you get, lesser you score even if you win.

For example, if first letter of the name you guessed is highlighted blue M and your next guess starts with G, then you'll get an egg for that. Blue letters are colder and you are supposed to go warmer/higher/later (towards Z).

• Level 1 - Practice level - max 10 eggs
• Level 2 - Play level - max 7 eggs
• Level 3 - Fast Play - max 7 eggs
• Level 4 - Pro level - no eggs
• Level 5 - Pro Fast - no eggs
